South Coast Tints started to wrap bonnets in summer 2010. We tried a few products on the market and were less than satisfied with what we had to play with. The look was not right, the feel was not right.
We did our research and found that the 3M Di-noc product was outstanding. 3M has a global reputation for being the best quality you can get. It's far from cheap but thats a small set back considering how amazing this product is.
We can cover bonnets, mirrors, side skirts and spoilers. It takes a great amount of skill and time to get a quality instillation. A bonnet can take about 3 hours and two skilled installers sweat and tears and if you loose your focus for one second you have to start over. The reward is a look that is so amazing people fail to miss it.
We always joke with customers that once wrapped people just cannot help rubbing there hands over it to feel it. The only time people ever do this on any other part of the car is when you have leather seats. No other time do people go up to your car and make that 'ooooh' sound and rub their hand over the bonnet or trims. Its funny to see, just watch the reaction.
One customer even sold his real carbon fibre bonnet worth £650 just to put his original bonnet back on then get us to wrap it. The advantages are that the real bonnet is solid and fits perfectly. Most carbon fibre bonnets tend to warp and crack very easily over time. The other main advantage is the fact that it hides all stone chips along with protecting it from more stone chips. One customer had a BMW M3 and did loads of motorway miles. Every year he would have the bonnet resprayed. Crazy we know, but that cost him about £600 a time he told us. We wrapped it for him for £250 (inc. VAT) and now he never needs to get it resprayed.
Some people like to buy what we call bra's for VW T4's T5's and we feel they look ugly. Yet with a carbon fibre wrap the look is outstanding giving you the same protection.
Carbon fibre offers a more realistic appearance than printed carbon fibre vinyls. The Carbon fibre vinyl adhesive sheet can be applied on any hard, smooth, flat surface such as windows, glass, plastic, metal, and painted wood.
Price depends on amount of material used and time taken to install. We give you a quote based on the complexity of the curves of the object being covered.
We are totally focused on quality and perfection. We are only happy once this has been achieved.
In most cases we need you to view your vehicle and talk through the various options.
