The combination of solar heat and UV rays can cause interior
trim, upholstery and carpeting to fade. Because window tinting rejects
a significant amount of solar energy and almost 100% of ultraviolet,

Standard Films
The SUN-GARD range of films are made with dyes and/or micro-thin
layers of metals. These dyes and metals are embedded into the window
film during the manufacturing process to reduce the amount of the
incoming sun's heat and glare through window glass. With SUN-GARD
window film, you'll be more comfortable and enjoy all the benefits noted above.
Please note the current legislation with regards to the UK Law specifies that no shade type may be installed on the front side windows.
 Film Type: Sun-guard Desert Smoke Series
We keep choices simple, mainly specialising in just 1 colour of
tint, Charcoal gray / black, with 4 shades. Other films
can be sourced by request.
 Extra
Light smoke (DS50 Desert Smoke) - For that Extra light Subtle Look
- Is a 50% tint (allows 50% of light to pass through
film )
- Once fitted you can see through the vehicle creating
a subtle classy look.
 Light
smoke (DS30 Desert Smoke) - For a subtle look
- Is a 30% tint (allows 30% of light to pass through
film )
- Once fitted you can still 'just' see through the vehicle
creating a subtle classy look
 Dark
smoke (DS20 Desert Smoke) - MOST POPULAR (Medium)
- Is a 20% tint (allows 20% of light to pass through
film )
- Great if your children can't see games or TV consoles in the back
- For the 'darker look' - this is our most popular shade choice and when requested by our vehicle dealerships for a factory finish it is this choice chosen to match standard manufactured privacy glass - it looks quite dark in most
cases, you can just see silhouettes through the film and doesn't
give too much of a contrast against the 'clear' front doors.
 Jet
black (DS05 Desert Smoke)
- Is a 5% tint (allows 5% of light to pass through )
- Our recommended option if your children can't see games or TV consoles in the back
- Mainly used on commercial vehicles (vans & trucks)
to stop tool theft, etc. being seen or on vehicles if you want
extreme privacy.
- This is an extreme black out tint, recommended for maximum privacy; this will reduce your ability to see behind at night and will increase parking difficulty.
Safety / Security Films
 The simplest proven way to protect against the hazards of shattered
glass, specifically designed to be applied to existing glass to
upgrade glazing to meet BS6206.
Available in various thicknesses in either clear, solar control
or tinted. For complete protection from accidental or terrorist
explosions, preventing needless injury to personnel and property
from the hazards of broken and flying glass.
 Invisible barrier protects against the
opportunists thief, Smash
and Grab raids, vandalism and break-ins are still at record
levels, mostly through glass. Applying Glassgard optically-clear
film to your glass creates an invisible barrier against bricks,
stones and other missiles, protecting people and property,
night and day.
Now the same material that protects sensitive Government and military
installations, banks and commercial premises against terrorist attack
can protect your vehicle or premises from the risk of loss and damage.
Watch our short video: With normal glazing the object smashes straight through. However,
when protected with our safety / security films, the object can no longer
penetrates the glass as easy. The glass is held together with the film and therefore makes the glass almost impenetrable with a brick or random object.
Even when a proper glass breaker is used it takes a lot of effort and noise to eventually break in. We are told that vehicle thieves don’t like carrying glass breaking equipment in case they are stopped by the police, as there is no reason to carry one unless you intend to do something with it.

Flying and broken glass are so obviously dangerous, that we rarely even think
about the injuries they can cause. These can be lessened or eliminated by the
application of Glassgard Safety Film to existing glazing.
The film holds broken and shattered glass in place, dramatically
limiting damage to people, property and contents.
UV Protective Films
Specially developed clear
Ultra-violet filtering films that cut out harmful UVA and UVB, whilst allowing
visible light to pass unhindered.
Worldwide there are millions of people who suffer from sensitivity
to Ultra-Violet light to some degree, and many for whom exposure
to UV is, ultimately, life threatening. The distressing symptoms
range from inconvenient and painful prickly heat type reactions,
to the potentially life-threatening conditions which affect the
sufferers of the more severe, but much rarer groups of diseases
such as xeroderma pigmentosum.
 For these sufferers, exposure to UV can affect the skin, the nervous system
and eyes, and without constant monitoring can lead to cancers. Many of these
conditions are genetic, and therefore most likely to affect children, but in
some cases the affects can be delayed until adulthood.
These films have a technically advanced, clear polyester coating which
is applied to existing glass. It keeps out almost all Ultra-Violet
light, while allowing daylight and clear vision through the glass
- making life normal for the whole family. It goes on working day
in day out, and its scratch resistant coating ensures it is easily
cleaned and needs no maintenance.
South Coast Tints apply the film to family cars for even more freedom,
and is being installed in playgroups, schools, dermatology
clinics... wherever there is glass.
